Debashis Ghosh is a Professor in the Department of Biostatistics and Informatics at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus, Colorado School of Public Health. He served as Department Chair for more than a decade before stepping down in 2024. Prior to joining the University of Colorado, Dr. Ghosh held faculty appointments in the Department of Biostatistics at the University of Michigan and the Department of Statistics at Penn State University.
His research centers on statistical machine learning, causal modeling, and biomarker evaluation, with a particular emphasis on applications in cancer. At Colorado, he has had a a wide variety of collaborators working on COVID19 modeling, exercise studies in aging populations, minority health and real-world evidence generation. He is an elected Fellow of the American Statistical Association and the Institute of Mathematical Statistics. He has recieved awards from the International Indian Statistical Association, the American Public Health Association and Harvard School of Public Health. Most recently, Dr. Ghosh received the 2025 WNAR Outstanding Impact Award and Lectureship..
